Cornerstone Presbyterian High School (CPHS) has been organized as a ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Belize.  We hold to the reformed teaching of Scripture which affirms that the triune God is Sovereign King of the universe and that He has revealed Himself in creation, in the person of Jesus Christ and in His Word, the Bible.

Cornerstone Presbyterian High School exists to guide, prepare and motivate students to glorify and serve God and to positively impact society with excellence in Belize and around the world.  A Biblical worldview requires that faith and learning be integrated; we are committed to modeling and teaching Christian beliefs, values, and morals within all subject matter and school activities.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Cornerstone Presbyterian High School is seeking applications from qualified and dedicated individuals for the following post:

 

One (1) Building and Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker

 

Requirements:

  • Be in possession of at least a high school diploma.

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance and repair work is preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.

  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exterior & Landscaping: Mowing lawns, trimming trees, planting and maintenance of flowers and decorative trees.

  • Building & Facility Maintenance: Performing minor repairs on buildings and student furniture, maintaining plumbing/electrical systems, and keeping outdoor structures in top condition.

  • Equipment Operations: Safely operating, fuelling, and maintaining power tools and landscaping machinery (e.g., mowers, blowers, trimmers).

  • Safety & Upkeep: Clearing debris, disposing of garbage, and controlling pests to maintain a secure environment.

  • Support to Agriculture Program: Assist in the care and feed of livestock of the school’s agriculture program, any other duties as assigned to support in the upkeep of the agricultural program.

Essential Skills:

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, lift heavy objects, and perform demanding manual labour for extended periods.

  • Attention to Detail: Recognizing hazards and ensuring all property areas are clean and well-kept.

  • Record-keeping: Meticulously maintain in writing an accurate record of inventory of all items and supplies. Be able to report to his immediate supervisor, both verbally and in writing, of all inconsistencies found as well as properly place orders of needed items and supplies with the school bursar.

 

Suitable candidates need to possess the following skills and attributes:

  1. Have a holistic view and appreciation to our mission and vision as a Presbyterian School.

  2. Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and in agreement with school policy.

  3. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions towards others. This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for conduct and character.

  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  6. Good organization and time management.

  7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  3. Certified copy of birth certificate

  4. Certified copy of social security card

  5. Medical certificate

  6. Recent police record (or certified receipt of application)

Remuneration: As per the school’s pay scale structure.
